In my own words.....
My interest in political science and foreign policy began at the University of Chicago.
Although my business pursuits led me along many paths, including manufacturing
management, international strategy consulting and launching a company, my interest
in politics, history and foreign policy formulation has always been a key component of
who I am. I have reached a place in my career where I can focus my energies in
researching, lecturing and writing about these important subjects.
I love lecturing, I love facilitating group discussions and I love writing and editing
my political / foreign policy newsletter "The View From My Balcony".
My first novel - "Busville" - was published on Amazon in July 2020. The next
page of my website talks about the plot and contains an ordering link.
My second novel - "The Final Recipe" - (a mystery)
will be published in 2023
My wife Carol and I live in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.
"His impressive knowledge of history and foreign policy, presented without bias, allows our audience to form their own thoughts on a topic. Gary has a devoted following among our residents."

"As a key instructor in our Lifelong Learning Program, Gary's presentations have significantly contributed in the areas of history and current events. His programs are very well researched. Quotes from recent Evaluation Forms said "Loved his humor and how he engaged with the audience" and "Clear explanation of very complicated material".

The goals of my work are to make people challenge their own assumptions
and help people understand that only by admitting they may be wrong
will they truly listen to opposed opinions. The person who disagrees
with us helps us and makes us better.
